  • Permitted Items: Due to TAS quarantine restrictions, we can only send dry goods and marine fish without a permit.
  • Prohibited Items: We cannot send any freshwater fish, invertebrates, coral, or aquatic plants.
  • Permit Application: You may inquire about obtaining a permit through Tasmanian Fisheries, but permits are generally only available to pet shop or public aquarium owners.

Northern Territory (NT) Fisheries Restrictions:

All customers ordering aquatic life must obtain approval from NT Fisheries before we can process and send your order.

The permit is free and the process is straightforward. Please follow the steps below.

Permit Requirement

You need this permit if you intend to import live, exotic, non-indigenous fish or aquatic life into the Northern Territory. This permit is usually attached to an Aquaculture, Aquarium Fishing/Display, and Aquarium Trader license. Arive Alive Guarantee

At Seaview, we proudly offer our "Arrive Alive Guarantee" for all livestock. Although we ensure the highest quality and health standards, and take meticulous care in packaging and shipping, some specimens may not survive transit. Shipping can be particularly stressful for corals, fish, and invertebrates, with some being more sensitive than others.

If your coral, fish, or invertebrate does not arrive alive, we will issue a store credit or provide a replacement of the same item. Please note that we do not cover shipping costs for replacement orders unless more than half of your order is Dead on Arrival (DOA).

To make a claim, please provide the following:

  1. Photographs: One or more clear photographs of the specimen in question. No image, no guarantee.
  2. Description: A detailed description of the issue.
  3. Treatment Information: Information on any treatments you have applied, such as dips, medications, acclimation, and placement for corals.

Contact us as soon as you notice something is wrong. We may be able to help guide you in restoring the specimen's health.

Important Notes:

  • Fish: Coverage is only provided for Airport-to-Airport shipping.
  • Corals and Invertebrates: Coverage is provided for both Airport-to-Airport and Door-to-Door shipping.
  • Specimen Disposal: Do not discard the specimen without Seaview’s authorization, as doing so will void the guarantee.
  • Shipment Refusal: Do not refuse the shipment if the box is leaking or appears damaged, as this will void the guarantee.
  • Tank Compatibility: We may void your guarantee if you have non-reef safe or predatory fish or invertebrates (e.g., Angelfish, Pufferfish, Filefish, Triggerfish, Butterflyfish, certain species of Crabs, Shrimp, Starfish, or non-herbivorous Blennies, Gobies, or Wrasses) in your reef tank. These creatures are known to pick at or consume corals, and Seaview cannot be held responsible for their actions.
  • Specialty Items: Specialty items or items labeled as "expert only" may not qualify for the guarantee. This will be clearly stated in the item description.
